After struggling with Strahd himself and the druids and berserkers at Yester Hill, the party decided to seek out some of the assistance promised in Madam Eva's fortunetelling. Having located their foretold ally Ezmerelda at St. Markovia's Abbey in Krezk, they get a night's rest and head outside to the garden to obtain the weapon of which the mystic had spoken. The item, the Sunsword, was located inside of a scarecrow, but a group of wights attempted to prevent the party from obtaining it. They were defeated, and though Khagon desired the sword, he passed it on to Tanine.
Feeling bolstered by this success, the party left Krezk behind and journeyed south to Tsolenka Pass, as Ezmerelda had suggested that the "white tower" in the mountains refered to that area. There, the group contended with a magical curtain of green flame, climbed a guard tower, and fought a group of snow maidens to obtain a tome written by Strahd himself. Within the tome were his secrets and history.
Departing from the mountains and following the Luna River, the party arrived at the ruins of Berez, where an old had made her home. Within her tree home was secured one of the winery's magical gems. Because they had approached from an unexpected angle, the hag was caught by surprise and defeated. The recovered gem was provided to a that was watching nearby, who flew off to return it to the winery.
As Lucius tried to discern how to control the hag's flying giant skull vehicle, the rest of the party planned their next move. The druids of Yester Hill remain a danger, and a holy symbol remains to be found (although the latter is believed to be inside Castle Ravenloft itself).
Will the party's newfound luck hold, or turn against them once more?
